Every Saturday afternoon during the opera season you can hear live broadcasts of some of the best operas in the world right in your living room or while running in the park, driving your car or anywhere that you have access to a radio. These broadcasts are on 360 stations in the US and in 41 other countries in 5 continents.
After 64 seasons, Chevron Texaco has dropped their sponsorship of these broadcasts. We have relief for next year thanks to both the Annenberg Foundation and their generous grant of $3.5 million and the $3.5 million pledge from the Vincent A. Stabile Foundation, but after that we may get re-runs which will still be nice, but it will not be the current season.
