Find out what's happening in Opera - New York City and around the World

Listen to Saturday Afternoon at the Met

 Broadcasts:

Metropolitian Opera Radio Broadcasts  can be heard internationally every Saturday during the regular opera season

For US and Canadian stations see the Chevron Texaco Metropolitian Opera  Radio Broadcast Stations page at the Metropolitan Opera website.

Every Saturday afternoon during the opera season you can hear live broadcasts of some of the best operas in the world right in your living room or while running in the park, driving your car or anywhere that you have access to a radio.   These broadcasts are on 360 stations in the US and in 41 other countries in 5 continents.

After 64 seasons, Chevron Texaco has dropped their sponsorship of these broadcasts.  We have relief for next year thanks to both the Annenberg Foundation and their generous grant of $3.5 million and the $3.5 million pledge from the Vincent A. Stabile Foundation, but after that we may get re-runs which will still be nice, but it will not be the current season.  While the Met searches for a new sponsor, perhaps you would like to join OperaNotes in letting Chevron Texaco know your feelings about this by writing to them at comment@chevrontexaco.com or by regular mail at:
